// ADVOCATE REQUESTED TO FRAME CHARGES AGAINST HOSTILE WITNESS IN MALEGAON BALST CASE – Delhi vakil

Advocate Shahid Nadeem representing victims of Malegaon Blast case wrote letter to Superintendent of the National Investigation Agency, in which he requested to include name of Mr. Purohit’s Commanding officer.

Commanding officer during his cross-examination turned hostile, gave such minute details about military intelligence which can be considered against him and made the circumstances suspicious against him or his role in blast. During examination he completely changed the statements gave by him on previous occasions, only to facilitate accused. The chain of events also shows that he took voluntary retirement from the army in 2008, during 2008 he was in service of Lieutenant colonel and Malegaon blast took place in the same year.

Advocate wrote in the letter that the charges under sec 319 of CRPC should be framed against the commanding office. From his statements, it’s enough clear that he had knowledge about the blast and the meeting of Abhinav Bharat where the preparation of blast was held. More than 100 people suffered injury and six were killed during the blast in Malegaon district of Maharashtra.

Case was filed by Azad Nagar Police Station later Anti terrorism squad and Maharashtra control of Organized crime act took over the case. The chargesheet submitted in 2011. MHA directed NIA to make further investigation in Malegaon case. The supplementary chargesheet submitted by the NIA in 2016 removed the name of Pragya Singh Thakur, Mr Purohit, Sameer kulkarni, Ramesh upadhyay and Sudhakar Chaturvedi.
