Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh granted bail to Rashtriya Janata Dal’s president Lalu Prasad Yadav in case of illegal withdrawal of 3.03 crore from the Dumka Treasury in the 1990s.

The Jharkhand High Court further directed him that he cannot leave the country and he cannot change his phone number & address of the house during the period of bail.

Lalu Prasad Yadav also got bail in the other three cases.

BACKGROUND

The scam of 950 crores was discovered after the deputy commissioner of Chaibasa Amit Khare raids the animal husbandry department in 1996 in the undivided Bihar. After the separation of Jharkhand from Bihar 39 cases out of 61 transferred to the Jharkhand court.

CBI filed the case against him and the trial begins against him in the special court. The allegation against him is proved in court and he got convicted.
