Absconding from 18 days two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar was arrested by Special Cell of Delhi police from mundka area of Delhi yesterday.

Two-time Olympic medalist Sushil Kumar was arrested on Sunday by the Special Cell of Delhi police from Mundka, Delhi along with one co-accused Ajay Kumar in the murder case of junior wrestler Sagar Dhankar. Crime branch is likely to investigate the murder case. He has been remanded to 6-day police custody by the Rohini court in Delhi. Sushil Kumar has been accused of kidnapping and then taking the 23 year old junior wrestler on gun point to the Chhatrasal Stadium where he was beaten with rods and sticks by Sushil and his friends. Delhi police had announced a reward of Rs. 1 Lakh for any information on Sushil Kumar Before his arrest. Police authorities had also announced a reward of Rs. 50,000/- for any information leading to his associate Ajay Kumar’s arrest.

Chhatrasal stadium, the mecca of wrestling in India has been in the news for all the wrong reasons and had also brought a bad name to itself. Delhi police has been quoted as saying that Suhil Kumar has asked his friend to film the brawl so that his influence over the wrestlers in the Chhatrasal Stadium continues.
