The Income Tax department has provisionally attached actor Shahrukh Khan’s 19,960 sq meters property located in Alibag, a beach town in Maharashtra.The Property has been attached under the Probition of Benami Property Transactions Act (PBPT),1998. As the Report came as,the attachment order for Shahrukh’s Déjà vu farms Pvt Ltd which was issued in December under this Act. The Benami Property Act is made for the people who purchase the property for their own use but in the the name of other person.
Shahrukh Khan Purchase a Property under the name of other person for agriculture use but later it was found the actor made a farm house for its personal use. Thereagter,the It Officers has submitted an Investigation report to the adjucating authority,seeking attachment of the property. The law empowers the investigating person to issue an attachment notice to the said person. However,the attachment of the Property cannot be done for the period exceeding 90days.
The actor has not violted the of Benami Property Transactions Act (PBPT),1998, but also Maharashtra Tenancy and Agriculture Land Act by purchasing the agriculture land which was purchase for constructing its own farm House.
The report states that Deja Vu Farms was incorporated by two shareholders- Srinivas Parthasarathy and Somasekhar Sundaresan in the year 2004. In December 2004, the share transfer certificates were signed by the first shareholders in the name of Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan. And then, the first director was replaced by three directors-Ramesh Chhiba, Savita Chhiba and Moreshwar Rajaram Ajgaonkar on the same day.
