The apex court transferred the petitions filed before it on agnipath recruitment scheme to Delhi High court where the petitions similar to the above are pending before the court.
The bench consists of Justice Chandrachud, Justice Pardiwala and Justice Surya kant passed orders on two public interest litigation and one writ petition filed under article 32. The writ was filed by the persons shortlisted last year for airmen service in the Air force, they pleaded to complete their selection process regardless of the Agnipath recruitment scheme introduced by the government this year.
The bench declined to transfer all petitions on agnipath scheme before itself as it deprived the court of views of the High courts on the scheme. The bench said similar petitions on agnipath scheme were filed before the various high courts like Punjab, Allahabad, Patna, Haryana and Kerala. The bench provided an option to the petitioners to transfer their petitions before the Delhi high court for consideration of the scheme by the court. Multiple writ petitions on the same subject before several high courts lead to chaos.
The court requested the Delhi High court for expeditious disposal of the case after hearing parties.
