The report ‘CHILD MARRIAGE PROSECUTION IN INDIA’ was published by Delhi based legal group ‘PARTNERS FOR LAW IN DEVELOPMENT’.

This report ‘PARTNERS FOR LAW IN DEVELOPMENT’ analyzed the judgment of 83 high courts and district courts from 2008 to 2017 in cases related to child marriage.

It shows that most of the legal proceedings initiated against the elopements and forced child marriage mostly go unfinished. Legal proceeding against marriage arranged by a girl is twice in a number of legal proceedings against marriage arranged by their parents or relative.

The number of girls who approached the court for nullification of their child marriage is very low.
